Washington Day 7 - Seattle

Rebecca & I decided to take the kids to Seattle for the day & explore around the Space Needle.

There was a labyrinth/walking maze thing & the kids had a blast following it. Eli pushed Liv around so she wouldn't feel left out. He's such a good babysitter!

Larissa & Eli & Adrienne seeing who can finish first.

Right next door was the music & sci-fi museum. This guitar sculpture even played music.

We walked right up to the Space Needle.

Eli & Adrienne sitting on one of the legs of the Needle.

We found a children's museum & decided to let the kids have some indoor fun. My kids found a painting workshop & happened to be the only kids there that day. They worked on a mural using fruit, vegetables & flowers to paint the picture.

This is part of the mural. They decided to add Seattle with paper cutouts. The museum employee liked it so much we cut some off & left it there for her to hang up in the museum. We brought the other 8 feet home with us. :)

Eli getting attacked by a knight.

Adrienne making nice with the dragon.

"This chair is too big! This chair is too soft!"

We found the clay sculpting area too & the kids made some creatures.

A really big slug!

The kids at the fountain near the Space Needle.

Leila & Larissa posing near the fountain.

Smile!

Riding the back of a whale. It was harder than it looks to get up there, I promise.

Smiling sisters.

It was National Skate Day & we saw some skaters fall down. As we were watching them a bird pooped on us. Isn't that good luck or something? (Cause it sure was gross.)

A really tall totem pole. "Seattle Center Totem"

Another shot of the sci-fi/music museum. It is one weird building.

On our way home we decided to stop off at Pike Place Market. We found the first Starbucks & had to go in!

We had to get some cocoa to celebrate being in the Starbucks.

Auntie Becky taking photos of the cousins by a wall that they didn't want to get too close to.

A taxi drove by us on our way back to the car. Luckily we had a spot to duck into so our toes would not get squished. The people in the cafe were just as amazed as we were that the taxi would even try to drive on this pathway!

All in all it was a very fun day exploring & seeing & doing things downtown Seattle.

Washington Day 6 - Father's Day

Tony wasn't with us but he did get a Father's Day call from the kids. The kids made these cards for Great Grandpa Phipps for Father's Day.

From Adrienne.

From Eli.

While we were in church Great Great Grandma Morsing passed away. She was a sweet lady & I'm glad we got a chance to see her earlier in the week.

Eli drew this picture during church & Great Grandma Phipps asked if they could use it for the memorial bulletin. Of course he said yes & was happy that his artwork would be used for something so special.
