Washington Day 7 - Seattle

Rebecca & I decided to take the kids to Seattle for the day & explore around the Space Needle.

There was a labyrinth/walking maze thing & the kids had a blast following it. Eli pushed Liv around so she wouldn't feel left out. He's such a good babysitter!

Larissa & Eli & Adrienne seeing who can finish first.

Right next door was the music & sci-fi museum. This guitar sculpture even played music.

We walked right up to the Space Needle.

Eli & Adrienne sitting on one of the legs of the Needle.

We found a children's museum & decided to let the kids have some indoor fun. My kids found a painting workshop & happened to be the only kids there that day. They worked on a mural using fruit, vegetables & flowers to paint the picture.

This is part of the mural. They decided to add Seattle with paper cutouts. The museum employee liked it so much we cut some off & left it there for her to hang up in the museum. We brought the other 8 feet home with us. :)

Eli getting attacked by a knight.

Adrienne making nice with the dragon.

"This chair is too big! This chair is too soft!"

We found the clay sculpting area too & the kids made some creatures.

A really big slug!

Leila & Larissa posing near the fountain.

Smile!

Riding the back of a whale. It was harder than it looks to get up there, I promise.

Smiling sisters.

It was National Skate Day & we saw some skaters fall down. As we were watching them a bird pooped on us. Isn't that good luck or something? (Cause it sure was gross.)

A really tall totem pole. "Seattle Center Totem"

Another shot of the sci-fi/music museum. It is one weird building.

On our way home we decided to stop off at Pike Place Market. We found the first Starbucks & had to go in!

We had to get some cocoa to celebrate being in the Starbucks.

Auntie Becky taking photos of the cousins by a wall that they didn't want to get too close to.

A taxi drove by us on our way back to the car. Luckily we had a spot to duck into so our toes would not get squished. The people in the cafe were just as amazed as we were that the taxi would even try to drive on this pathway!

All in all it was a very fun day exploring & seeing & doing things downtown Seattle.

Washington Day 5 - Bellevue

We decided to explore downtown Bellevue with Rebecca & her girls & give GGma & GGpa some quiet time.

We found this Chihuly glass exhibit in a mall. The water fountain was nice...

but the chandelier was amazing.

The kids are looking at all the different glass squiggles.

We found this cute scooter outside a restaurant & of course everyone had to go for a ride.

Even Liv got near the scooter.

Back at home that evening we tried to line the kids up for a cousin photo. As you can see, it was impossible to get everyone looking at the same time, but they still were pretty cute.

Washington Day 4

We were getting ready for Rebecca & her girls to arrive at GGma & GGpa house. Adrienne wanted to help GGpa put the highchair together & clean it up for little Liv.

She really is a very good helper.

Washington day 3, Taking a ferry ride

Great Grandma Phipps needed to visit with her mother & usually took the ferry to get there. We all decided to go so we could see Great Great Grandma & take a ferry ride too.
One of the Ferry boats.

Great Grandma Phipps pointing out interesting things to the kids through the ferry window.

Exploring the boat.

Saying goodbye to Seattle as we sailed away.

It got a little breezy as we picked up speed.

My tour guide poiting out where she thinks we will be going.

Eli pretending to be a mountain.

My little reader stocking up on info about the area.

What part of snickers, m&m's, skittles etc. is actually healthy?

After we had a quick visit with GGGma Morsing we went to explore a nearby nursery while GGma Phipps visited a while longer. They had a lot of fish & water features that were fun for the kids to explore.

The kids are feeding the fish with Great Grandpa Phipps.

It's just so pretty!

We took ferry back home again. Hello Seattle!

My budding photgrapher took this photo of me.

Eli holding the Space Needle in his hand.

We decided to go to the park down the street once we got home & take advantage of the swings.

Adrienne pretending to be grumpy. Pretty convincing huh?

They found this neat thing that spins you around like crazy. I tried it & almost couldn't walk afterwards.

Adrienne LOVED it!
